    Wheel interchange

I searched.......I know that in 2007 there was a change in the wheel lug pattern..... Do all 2006 and older 5 x 4.5 wheels have the same offset....And will they fit properly on an XJ? I'm looking at used wheels and tires and there's a lot of Liberty and non JK Wranger wheels with mounted...

87 2.5 no spark or fuel pump

I looked at a solid 1987 Comanche for sale today. It's a 4x4 5 speed 2.5 engine. Engine turned over but no start. I don't hear the fuel pump when the ignition is turned on...And there was no spark to the plugs.... This can be a simple thing like a coil and pump relay... or a computer failure...

XJ stall out when it's above 50 F degrees

My daughter has a 97 XJ with 390,000 miles. It's beat up, dents all over , duct tape..but it's all she got right now. And she's kinda attached to the Jeep... It's a 1997 4.0 automatic. The junker has always run great but lately it's got a problem. When it's about about 50 degrees or warmer...

    Oil in Muffler!

Some engine can use a quart every 500 miles and there's no smoke to be seen. Do you have to add oil to the engine frequently?

    Rear O2 sensor

So....I replaced the O2 sensor and after about 10 miles the CEL came back on...same code....I looked very carefully at the wiring harness to the sensor and saw the area where the drive shaft had worn through the plastic cover and a wire....The harness was secured so I didn't check before...

    Rear O2 sensor

Yes, I reset the light with the scanner..... Ok, so before when the cat rotted out ,the O2 sensor was hanging from the wire with the rusted bung still attached...Drove around for a few hundred miles and no CEL... It should have triggered a code... About 10 years ago I got a recall on my 96 XJ...

    Rear O2 sensor

97 XJ 5 speed check engine light ,code 138, high voltage ,bank 1, sensor 2. No big deal to replace it..but... The engine runs fine,no change in fuel mileage. The question is...does this rear O2 sensor have any effect on engine performance? Oh...I did replace the convertor about 2000 miles ago...

    1999 Cherokee 5 speed 4x4

Two door 4x4 originally from North Carolina and seen only a few NY winters. last year it was garaged for the winter.. Located near Rochester NY. Very solid with no rust damage other than a few spots of surface rust underneath that show up on a white vehicle. Drip rails, rockers and fenders have...

    Slow Cherokee

No...Since it runs smooth and seems fine during normal driving I haven't messed with it more. And I've been busy on motorcycle stuff. But I'm rigging up a gauge to hook up to the injector rail so I can check fuel pressure while on the road...

    Slow Cherokee

...To be perfectly honest I have tried Seafoam in several vehicles and noticed no difference other than a cloud of smoke and my wallet was 8 bucks lighter. Perhaps my engines are not dirty inside for some reason...

    Slow Cherokee

It got new plugs etc and an O2 sensor 6 months ago .The intake is quite clean when looking through the throttle body.I don't like the idea of pouring Sea Foam into an intake as routine maintenance. Where does the stuff go after it's dissolved ? I'll hook up a gauge and drive it to check...

    Slow Cherokee

All the same gears... It does have bigger tires but felt no slower than my other XJ's last year....

    Slow Cherokee

I have three XJ's, two 99's and one 97. All three are 4.0 5 speeds. All have about 150,000 miles. One of them compared to the others is noticably slower when accelerating at near or full throttle. The engine idles smooth,no surging or hesitating and will rev to redline but just slower. Last year...
