Oddly enough all my XJ builds are on ComancheClub... 2 of my XJ's (green and white) I built with and for my daughters. So far so good with those -- they're keeping them up like a chip off the old block. Good times and long live the XJ (and MJ)!

Back in the early 90's CRL made them for the 2dr XJ. Know it for fact as I considered buying them. Looked similar to the 2dr S10 Blazer when they added sliders to their 2dr.

And I checked all the vacuum caps/ lines for cracks and nada. All solid.

I've endlessly searched the web and this forum to try and diagnose my issue -- 97 XJ 4.0L AW4 2WD 73K…I’m completely stumped on my CEL/ rough chugging idle (most noticeably when cold, but always comes back when at operating temperature). Didn’t do this before as I drove it for about 2000 miles...

Do you still have the ext idle switch for sale?

My running lights no longer come on. At first it was briefly an intermittent issue, now completely out. I've checked interior/ under hood fuses and they are good. Replaced headlight switch and still not working. Have done endless Internet forum searches with no luck. And one else experience...

Did a search on the web, etc. Wanted to see what kind of grease to use for the Ax-15 input shaft? High-temp grease? Looks like something else was used previously. Advice?

Your '88 will have the wiring behind the switch pod to the left of the steering column. The wiring is the pink, pink/blk, & black pigtail. The connector for the actual light for the back of the truck is wrapped and tucked behind the drivers b-pillar interior panel up high near the cab interior...

It's the switch on the dash. Replace it with a new one.

I did a number of searches on this topic on this site and several other Jeep forums. I'm trying to understand if I can use a TJ AX-15 with my 91 XJ 4.0L. I understand the transfer case clocking issue will need to be addressed, but...can I use my '91 XJ 231 case or do I need to source a newer...

I noticed '93 and up XJ's have a different connector/ more wires at the firewall connector going back to the transfer case than the 91/92 XJ model year. Any idea if the wiring differences are "superficial"...meaning: Can a '93+ transfer case work in a '91 XJ without issue? Guessing the speed...

I've got a 91 4.0L XJ 5-spd and need to replace my 231 transfer case...Any reason why a newer XJ ('95-'96) case wouldn't be an identical bolt up? I know the speed sensor plug is different, but I'd assume I can swap out that assembly and use the longer ('91-style)speedo gear with the newer case...

Thanks. It's only when the AC is on. I've recreated the occurance several times. Doesn't happen when the AC is off. Don't know about battery gauge as it really is only a split second I loose power. And don't know re: headlights as I only drove during the day. Will test more tomorrow.

My 01 XJ 4.0L AW4 132K mi while driving today with the AC on kept cutting out as the AC cycled. By cutting out I mean - the radio/ overhead console lights/sound turned off for a split second and the engine choked, but it never died. Never had an issue like this with any of my Jeeps, so I don't...

I've got a Mopar cruise control kit I'm looking to install on my 91 4.0L 5-spd MJ...There is no provision in the kit for the clutch pedal speed control trigger (turning off cruise when the clutch is depressed). I've looked in the factory parts manuals and can't find anything for the clutch...
