To Do List

LOL... that would be cool to have a J10 there too, you gotta get it together and bring it down...

A.

I can get it together and I can get down there BUT getting it together then affording to drive it down is another thing.

A To Do List? hahahahahahahahahahaha!! (That's a bitter laugh. I'm still pissed at swamping the XJ)

1 - buy decent padding and install "new" carpet. Put the interior back together (with me doing the work myself that will take a whole damn month).
2 - replace headliner (Another month since a full length OHC is involved)
3 - source some decent, cheap 4" coils somewhere & maybe some leafs (then figure out whether my OME Long Travel shocks will still work)
4 - get the Swampers mounted, balanced & on the XJ

FYI - OHC is *easy* to swap. I've done a full install of one including all the wiring in under an hour.

Pull that screw out, slide it back till it drops down, slide it forward, disconnect wires, done!

Ok since I'm keeping the current Jeep running for NAC fest here is my list...
Install adjustable uppers
Paint and install rock sliders
pick up 29sp 8.25 and install (or just upgrade current 8.25 to 29sp)
Gear to 4.10 (wishful thinking)
buy t-case skid and install... thinking JCR
Front aussie buy and install... still up in the air on this

Still to do on my Green XJ:

Finish trac-bar
Plumb fuel lines
Plumb brake lines
Finish passenger rocker and floor
Finish rear floor and rear inner fenders
Put front clip back on
Finish up cooling system
Install front locker
Install interior and E-brake
Paint

I think that's it for now. I hope....

finished my SYE after braking the tap off in the rear output shaft :gee: so next things are e-fan conversion and OBA or a WJ booster

You better be doing the WJ booster... I want your old MC/booster before Nacfest. :twak:

I just swapped in a '96 XJ booster so I have my old single diaphragm booster/master if that's what you are looking for and can figure out some way to get it from MA to NJ

And with that, I can now (almost) knock of brakes from the list. got my rear disks installed and a ZJ prop w/ XJ Dual Diaphragm booster installed. Then I went to bleed it out and one of the soft lines for the rear calipers is leaking.... so almost done.

And I have everything to do my steering, finally found a big ass tap wrench so I am getting to work on that as soon as I can get a table/vice built/setup.

And I have [almost] all the steel required to plate my unibody and do high clearance rockers w/ unibody tie-ins/boatsides. Just gotta get something to plate over the legs from unibody to rocker whenever I get that far along.

No he's supposed to be doing the WJ in his 95( i think its a 95 might be a 96). I'm supposed to get the dual booster/mc from him.

Umm, why is he doing that? You know they are essentially the same boosters right?
My bet is that the MC on the WJ setup has a larger bore, but I'm not sure and this could be complete BS info. Probably easier to swap the MC and booster as a unit rather than putting the WJ MC on a 95/96 booster :dunno: booster and master cylinder specs are something I know very little about.

I've definitely heard there is a difference... I don't remember if it was that significant or if it was that much of a difference. Might have been the bore like Ken said.

For the new Jeep, I need to

-weld on front to rear stiffeners
-get some spare front axleshafts/hubs for peace of mind
-make or buy quarter panel armor
-rocker replacements
-install bumper/winch
-steering box brace (ordered the c-rok yesterday)
-rework rear shocks/mounts

and like Colin, I'm sure there's more I could do but that stuff I'd definitely like to have taken care of...

really not bad at all :)

so, uhhh, well, colin offered his stock 60 shafts/hubs for me to bring as spares... as for the rest of the list? :conceited

I think I'm going to skip the rocker replacements and quarter panel armor for now most likely, and I'll install the bumper/winch/steering brace as soon as I get the bumper from Mark. I keep saying it...but maybe this weekend

dear travis,

please don't ruin another perfectly good, rust-free unibody.

regards,

anthony

I'm gonna wheel, and then build as funds allow....if something happens, well, shit happens. :dunno:

:D

its already be proven possible to ruin a perfectly good unibody and then do a bunch of work to it to make it all good again. in fact, i think this jeep has some experience in that.....
